First clay cast

Our first transformation from a digital model to a cup cast in clay. The first step is to make a 3D print of the digital model and use this print as the master model. Next step is to make a two part plaster mold. Because the model has different angles and is not symmetrical we chose for a two part mold to make sure the mold does not break when we take out the 3D print. For making the mold we designed and 3D printed a mold casing to speed up the mold making process. Next step was to cast the clay. We kept the clay in the mold for 30 minutes and poured out the excess clay. We dried the cast for about a day and gently took it out of the mold.
