Evolving Objects is a research and development project of visual artist Adri Schokker and software developer Wouter Reckman. The goal of the project is to explore various methods for generating and designing tableware with artificial intelligence and interactive genetic algorithms. For the sake of simplicity we focus on the generation of a coffee cup. An object that a lot of us carry around through the day.

Aside the digital research we focus on the process of fabricating the cup using different techniques like 3D printing and ceramics. A fascinating and inspiring process where new techniques and crafts come together and that invites us to rethink authorship and authenticity.
